In Queensland almost 8000 children are living away from home and in the care of the Department of Communities. For many reasons a large number of these children will be separated from their siblings.

This occurs at a time when family support is vital.  Maintaining contact with siblings whilst in care helps to promote a feeling of security and stability. YMCA Siblings Reconnect is a unique program that reconnects siblings separated in care, and provides a caring environment in which children learn to cope with their separation.
